I certainly place caring for my skin among my top priorities when it comes to taking care of my body. There’s no denying that I want to look good and I want to look my best at all times. Possessing beautiful, nearly flawless skin is certainly one way of ensuring that and it also helps with my level of confidence. That’s something I need to work on and I think I’m getting there.

There are many great products out there that claim to help in achieving beautiful skin. Me, I just try to use the natural ones or those as close to being natural as much as possible. One of those that I use is lavender, that pretty little flower that is usually colored in blue, lilac, or violet. Lavender for skin care has proven to be a good choice for me.

Caring for Your Skin with Lavender

Lavender is a flower that belongs in the mint family of Lamiaceae. It is a very beautiful flower that is usually used for aromatherapy and for its healing properties. The truth is, Lavender has had a long and outstanding history as a herbal remedy. Lavender oil and skin care have long been prized for its natural healing and antiseptic properties, and has been held valuable for its ability to treat skin injuries and disorders.

The highly prized and useful Lavender oil comes from the English or true Lavender. This oil actually has sweet overtones and is therefore useful in many forms, such as perfumes, balms, cosmetics, and topical applications. English Lavender has been the most desired and sought after since it has the least camphor oil when distilled.

Lavender works as a great moisturizer and also as an effective astringent. It has also been proven to be very effective in treating acne, eczema, burns, fungal infection, dermatitis, and some wounds. With all of these uses, there is little wonder that Lavender is much sought after not only as a skin care product but for many other purposes as well.
