With a small convection microwave oven you would have to make many small portions, but in a traditional oven you would be able to cook a whole meal in one batch.
The amount of electricity you save also depends on the size of your meals. It would be more economical for a large family to stick with the traditional oven rather than switch to another for meal times, but it could be economical for such a family to use smaller convection microwaves for snack times.
