If you are just out of college or high school you no doubt understand how difficult it can be to find and keep a stable job. The economy is in shambles and companies are laying people off by the thousands every day. It looks bleak, I know, but I am here to tell you there is a vast field opening up even as I write this.
I’m talking about the medical support field. That’s right; you don’t have to spend the next 12-15 years of your life just to get a job in medicine. Of course you won’t be making the huge salaries that doctors make either. But don’t worry; you can still do very well for yourself.
For instance, the salary of a certified medical assistant is somewhere in the neighborhood of about $35,000 a year. And while you may be able to get on the job training, your best bet is to take the year long course for certification if you want to increase your chances. Medical Assistants are in a very competitive field. You’ll also need to take continuing education classes every 5 years to maintain your certification.
Surgical technologist jobs are booming right now as well. These guys make anywhere from $13 to $19 an hour, although the top ten percent make as much as twenty five dollars an hour.
Surgical techs are the ones assisting the surgeons during medical procedures. You know, handing them scalpels, swabbing wounds, etc. You’ll need to have graduated high school and then join a training program that lasts anywhere from nine months to two years. Then you need to get certified to ensure you get a good paying job.
With the baby boomer generation entering into retirement, these medical support jobs be increasingly more necessary. Check into some online training program and get your piece of the pie today.
