Getting the Best Tailgating Grill

Tailgating season is one of my favorite times of year; the parties are awesome, the food is fantastic, the beer is cold and the games..well, when you make it to the games their awesome too. But one of the things that I’m constantly looking for is a better grill to use while I’m tailgating. Starting off with a portable charcoal grill was great when it was just a couple of buds, but now that we’ve got a whole crew, I’m looking for something bigger. So if you need help getting the best tailgating grill, here is what I’ve found.

When starting out I wasn’t sure if I should stay with the charcoal grill or if I should switch over to propane. The gas grills are nice because it’s a set it and forget it style of cooking which is way more convenient. But after using a charcoal grill for tailgating I got used to the flavor and the extra work. So it really is a matter of preference. The one thing I would suggest is that you consider how many people you’re feeding and how much time you have. On the occasions where we were late, it seemed like it took forever to get the charcoal grill going and everyone was hungry and getting crunked up.

The next thing that I wanted was portability. All the new tailgating grills they got out now have amazing portability features built in, stuff like collapsing legs and removable side tables, which make it so much easier to travel around and move with. Plus it makes packing and unpacking so much easier because they don’t take up much space and in like two steps you’ve got a full service grill. I also like the idea that you don’t have to bend down on the ground to cook with the tiny charcoal grill anymore.
