Choosing Appropriate Toy Organization Furniture

Have you decided to give your child’s playroom a makeover?  It can be tempting to go shopping for all new furniture when you get started.  However, you don’t need to do that.  There are just a few pieces that you ultimately need.

Before you go shopping for anything, you want to take some time to go through your current toy collection.  Preferably, you want to get rid of at least 25% of the toys your child currently has.  Most children have many toys that are broken or no longer played with.  Getting rid of this many makes organizing the rest easier.  It also increases the enjoyment of the toys they have left.

Once you have eliminated a number of toys, you are ready to go shopping.  There are basically three types of toy organization furniture you want to look at.  Here is an overview of each.

Toy boxes are always popular.  There are ones that double as toys, like this Little Tikes Thomas Toy Box.  You may also want to look at some pirate toy chest reviews to check their popularity.  Overall, you want something your child will enjoy.  If it is to be used in an adult space, like the living room, get something that blends in a little more.

Toy chests work best for holding large toys.  Smaller ones get lost in the bottom unless you use bins or boxes to contain them.  If you have room, you may want to consider other options for the smaller toys.

A toy bin organizer is frequently used.  With multiple small bins, it can hold all sorts of small toys.  Label the bins to help your children put the toys away correctly.

A toy hammock is also useful.  Hung high in the corner of the room, it works best to hold stuffed animals kept for sentimental reasons.
